In its 60th Year Tre Mari Bakery Launches its Online Shop of Over 900 Homemade and Specialty Food Products
Toronto—On Sunday, April 19, Tre Mari Bakery “opened the doors” to its new online store shop.tremari.ca, continuing to serve its surrounding community and beyond.
As with many local family businesses, Tre Mari Bakery was forced to quickly adapt in the wake of COVID-19. While preparing to move their store online, the bakery was busy taking orders by phone and email and arranging free deliveries. The new online shop allows the bakery to offer a wider range of homemade and specialty products while also serving a larger community in Toronto, Etobicoke and Vaughan. In addition to their loved pastries, specialty cakes, and bread, the online store provides a number of new offerings. Customers can now purchase all their grocery needs with the addition of a Fresh Produce department, Food Staples Packages as well as a fun series of DIY Kits for the whole household to enjoy including the Cannoli Kit, the Tiramisu Kit, and the Pizza Kit.
“COVID-19 has taken us all by surprise and every day has been a new learning experience for all of us,” says Tre Mari Bakery owner AnnaMarie Deleo. “The transition has been a lot of work and we would not be here without the great support of our staff, customers, volunteer drivers and the outpouring of love from our community. Our goal is to keep everyone safe and stocked with quality foods while also continuing to serve as a hub for our community, whether it be in person or online.”
Tre Mari Bakery has been a proud member of Toronto’s Corso Italia community on St Clair West since it was opened by Jim and Mary Deleo in 1960. With an influx of immigration to Toronto during the 60s, Tre Mari Bakery played an important role in the Italian immigrant story as a hub for those looking for a familiar, friendly and dependable place to purchase their groceries. The tradition of providing a community and family experience continues with the family’s 3rd generation running the bakery. Brothers Franco, John Paul and Alessandro run Tre Mari Bakery along with their mother AnnaMarie.
